MARK SIMMONS - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
With over 40 years of experience in banking, Mr. Simmons brings deep expertise and trusted leadership to the Bank. As a lifelong Houstonian banker, he has held senior executive roles at both community and national banks, including serving as CEO of a Houston-based community bank until his retirement in 2022. Since then, he has continued to advise financial institutions as a consultant.
Throughout his career, he has led credit and lending operations, overseen strategic planning and marketing initiatives, and worked closely with regulators, boards, and accounting professionals. His longstanding presence in the Houston banking market offers invaluable insight and guidance for the future of the Bank.
With his leadership, we are building a strong foundation for sustainable growth and innovation. Under his guidance, the bank is well-positioned to serve our clients and communities with purpose, integrity, and vision.
Mark Jacobs – President
Mr. Jacobs is an experienced bank executive with a track record of success in serving high NetWorth individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. He also has been responsible for large teams, most recently leading a staff of eight regional managers for a large regional bank. He is very active in community activities and holds leadership roles in The Houston Area Urban League, the Greater Houston Port Bureau and others. Mr. Jacobs' experience in the banking industry, as well as his community involvement and leadership experience, enables him to provide financial and operational expertise to the Bank, and to lead the Bank in the execution of its business plan.
Jerry Cooksey - Chief Financial Officer
Jerry is a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in banking and financial services. He is a graduate of Bellarmine University (BA) and holds an MBA from Lincoln Memorial University. Throughout his career, he has served as CFO and in other key executive roles at banks across the FDIC’s Dallas and Atlanta regions, as well as their holding companies.
As CFO of Houston Bank & Trust, Jerry brings deep expertise in financial strategy, risk management, and operational excellence. His leadership will play a vital role in driving the Bank’s growth and delivering lasting value to our clients and communities.
